New Project in 2016: Cambodia
The Max Planck Foundation for International Peace and the Rule of Law will implement a project with the Parliament of the Kingdom of Cambodia in 2016. It will focus on raising awareness and capacity building regarding international treaty obligations with a specific focus on human rights. The overall objective is to support the rule of law and peaceful development of the country by delivering a tailor-made program of capacity building activities.
In the course of 2016 the Foundation’s experts are going to deliver a high-level round-table conference, multi-day training workshops, as well as train-the-trainer workshops. In addition, the project welcomes the support of the Senate and the National Assembly libraries in order to facilitate the work of the Parliamentarians and legal support staff.
All training activities are implemented and supervised by experts of the Foundation. They are designed to produce benefits that will continue after the project has ended. Ultimately, the National Assembly and the Senate shall be able to conduct capacity building for their employees on their own in the future.
