The Max Planck Foundation offers the opportunity of training to law clerks (in accordance with the German “Referendariat” system). Law clerks prepare legal seminars and training events for the Foundation’s various projects, for example, in the areas of international law, constitutional law and administrative law. The location of training for law clerks is the Foundation’s premises in Heidelberg.
The requirements for an open application for the position of law clerk are as follows:
- Completion of the First State Examination in Law (Germany) with exceptional results
- Fluent English both in both spoken and written form
- Further languages that are also an advantage include Arabic, Dari/Farsi, Pashtu, Burmese and Amharic
The starting date and duration of each training period are to be agreed upon with the law clerk’s supervisor.
