Strengthening Children's Rights through Capacity BuildinG
Despite improvements in the status and welfare of children, there are many areas that do not meet international standards. They include the right to education, the right to protection, as well as the right to health. These basic rights are unfortunately not guaranteed for every child. An alarmingly high number of children are exposed to violence in families or in state care. Vulnerable children often face obstacles in accessing and participating in public resources.
Improvements must start with the legal situation and international standards. The project contributes to the implementation of children’s rights in Azerbaijan. Especially the improvement of the situation of vulnerable children in need of protection is in the focus of the project.
The main aim is to raise awareness, actively promote dialogue between different stakeholders and ultimately develop policy recommendations to better enforce and protect children’s rights. One goal is to contribute to the establishment of a child protection index.
