Overview

In Tunisia’s transition towards democracy, one of the most important moments was the election of a constitutional assembly on 23 October 2011. The main task of this assembly was drafting a new constitution, which was adopted 26 January 2014. The constitutional assembly (Assemblée Constituante/Constituent Assembly) played a key role in creating a new political order in Tunisia.
