International Treaty Law Seminars for Various South Sudanese Ministries

South Sudan, as the newest member of the international community, faces the important task of negotiating and concluding international and bilateral treaties. At the request of the South Sudanese Ministry of Justice and with the financial support of the German Federal Foreign Office, the Max Planck Foundation is conducting a seminar series on international treaty law for high-ranking legal counsels from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, Ministry of Finance and the Office of the President. During a series of five seminars the participants are familiarised with the most essential principles of public international law and important aspects of international treaty law. It serves to assist the legal counsels of the various ministries with regard to future negotiations and signing of international treaties by the South Sudanese Government.
