Delegation from the Max Planck Foundation Visits the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Jordan

The visit was aimed at introducing the Foundation and the projects that the Foundation is currently implementing in Jordan with various partners and state institutions

A delegation from the Max Planck Foundation met with the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Ibrahim al-Jazy, at the University of Jordan. The visit was aimed at introducing the Foundation and the projects that the Foundation is currently implementing in Jordan with various partners and state institutions.

Dr. Ibrahim al-Jazy welcomed the delegation and discussed various aspects of the syllabus for law students and post-graduate researchers at the Faculty of Law and considered opportunities for future cooperation between the two institutions. Dr. al-Jazy highlighted the high level of academic standards at the Faculty and stressed the need for continued improvement and bilateral exchange with international law scholars and experts from abroad in order to engender a dialogue across legal traditions with an emphasis on common principles and international legal standards.

The meeting concluded with a general understanding and willingness by both organisations to continue cooperation and exchange of technical expertise and to explore possibilities for formal collaborations in the area of technical training for trainee lawyers in the near future.
