The Foundation organised the event bringing together both national and international representatives to discuss reconciliation and confidence-building in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
On 5 December 2019, the Max Planck Foundation held a conference in Sarajevo entitled “Reconciliation – from rhetoric to policies”. This event served the purpose of triggering a renewed approach, both nationally and internationally, to address the vital issue of national reconciliation in a strategic manner and to give it the importance it deserves on the national and international political agenda.
The event was attended by BiH political representatives, the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Valentin Inzko, different EU ambassadors, members of civil society organisations as well as international organisations. The conference is followed by a workshop on 06 December dedicated to the same topic.
This is part of the ongoing project “Transitional Justice and Reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina” which is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
