Delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Visiting Max Planck Foundation

Judges of the Constitutional Court of Jordan, the Director of the Judicial Institute of Jordan and researchers from the Max Planck Foundation and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public and International Law (MPIL) discussed on the constitutional framework, the setup and experiences of the German Constitutional Court from a comparative perspective

Research Fellows from the Max Planck Foundation and the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public and International Law (MPIL) met with a delegation of judges from the Constitutional Court of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan at the premises of the Foundation in Heidelberg on 30 May 2014. The expert roundtable was organised and supported through the generous assistance of the IRZ, Germany (Deutsche Stiftung für Internationale Rechtliche Zusammenarbeit).

Discussions between the judges of the Constitutional Court of Jordan, the Director of the Judicial Institute of Jordan and researchers from the Max Planck Foundation and MPIL focused on the constitutional framework, the setup and experiences of the German Constitutional Court from a comparative perspective. The participants discussed at length areas of importance and mutual interest and identified areas for potential future cooperation between Max Planck and the Constitutional Court of Jordan.
