The Foundation provides legal drafting literature to the Attorney General’s Office in the Maldives

On 6 October 2021, the Foundation officially handed over several legislative drafting textbooks to senior legal officers from the Maldivian Attorney General’s Office.

The topics in the books range from cutting edge legal drafting techniques, to comparative studies of legislative processes around the world, to guides for creating effective public participation. The provision for legal literature aims to encourage the use of the knowledge, and further the skills, explored during numerous legislative drafting workshops held by the Foundation with legislative drafters from the Attorney General’s Office in the Maldives.

The provision of these books forms as part of the Foundation’s now completed “Strengthening the Rule of Law in the Maldives” project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office. Delivery of the textbooks was initially delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
