Foundation conducts stakeholder meetings in Dushanbe

Visiting staff laid the groundwork for future cooperation with key state agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan in the field of counterterrorism and international law.

From 22 to 26 April 2024, Foundation staff met the high representatives of Tajik state bodies responsible for or otherwise concerned with the administrative monitoring of returned foreign fighters and their families.

The consultations touched in particular on current policies and practices in the control and supervision of persons who have returned from conflict zones.

These meetings lay the groundwork for future technical legal cooperation between Foundation researchers and state officials to take on concrete challenges that may arise within this multi-faceted legal context.

The meetings were part of the project ‘Prosecution, Rehabilitation, and Reintegration of Returning Foreign Fighters and their Families’, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
