Volume 27 of the Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) is set to be published in print by the end of the calendar year. This edition will feature a special thematic forum on ‘Assessing the International Law Commission: the past, present and future’, including therein articles and other special contributions that critically engage with and examine the work of the International Law Commission (ILC), in light of the recently concluded 75th anniversary of the body.
The edition will also feature a few select articles that pertain to the general editorial scope of the publication (i.e. the Law and Practise of the United Nations and Legal Issues Related to the Goals of the United Nations).
Some of the articles featured in Volume 27 of the UNYB are now available online ahead of the full edition as advance publications and can be accessed here, via subscription. This includes topics such as an examination of the UN Security Council’s sanction committees, assessing the ILC’s engagement with international migration law, a survey of the ILC’s practice in working with dispute settlement clauses, and others. For those who are interested, the abstracts of all the advance articles are freely accessible on the Brill website.
