The Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) holds Fourth Editorial Advisory Board Meeting

The Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) recently held its fourth annual Editorial Advisory Board meeting on 24 March 2025. The virtual meeting, convened by the Editorial Secretariat (the Editors-in-Chief and the Managing Editor of the UNYB), was attended by a majority of the Editorial Advisory Board members. Representatives from the publisher, Brill, also joined the meeting to provide an update on the UNYB’s progress and developments over the past year.

Participants engaged in lively discussions on key topics related to the UN Yearbook’s editorial strategy, including a brainstorming of the thematic scope for Volume 29 (2026). The Editorial Advisory Board, whose members have served since January 2023, play an integral role in guiding the UNYB’s strategic direction, and act as pioneers for the promotion and development of the publication. The experts on the Editorial Board hail from a range of international organizations, academic institutions, and the United Nations and affiliated bodies. The full list of members and their profiles can be found here.

Currently, the UNYB is preparing for the publication of Volume 28, which will feature a thematic focus on ‘Challenges and Opportunities for the Law of the Sea at a Time of Crisis’.
