The Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) recently convened its fifth annual Editorial Advisory Board meeting on 17 April 2026. The virtual meeting, convened by the Editorial Secretariat (the Editors-in-Chief and the Managing Editor of the UNYB), was attended by members of the Editorial Advisory Board and a representative from the publisher, Brill, who provided an update on the UNYB’s progress and developments over the past year.
Participants engaged in a range of discussions on key topics related to the Yearbook’s editorial strategy, including brainstorming ideas for the thematic scope of the UNYB’s 30th anniversary volume (scheduled for publication in 2027). The Editorial Advisory Board, whose members have served since January 2023, plays an integral role in shaping the UNYB’s strategic direction and serves as a driving force in promoting and advancing the reach of the publication. The experts on the Editorial Board are situated all across the world, associated with academic institutions, international organisations, and the United Nations and affiliated bodies. The full list of members and their profiles can be found here.
Currently, the UNYB is preparing for the publication of Volume 29, which includes a thematic focus on ‘Rethinking the Notion of “Territory” in International Law’. This volume is set to be published by the end of 2026.
