The project aims to support informed youth participation in shaping a sustainable and peaceful future in the country.
The Max Planck Foundation has officially launched a new project in Armenia titled ‘Youth’s Critical Perspectives on the Peace Process’. Initiated on May 1, 2026, the project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office through its comprehensive program, ‘Expanding Cooperation with Civil Society in the Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia’.
Core Objectives and Impact
The initiative seeks to foster informed youth participation in shaping a sustainable, peaceful future for the region. By creating structured opportunities for constructive dialogue, consultation, and critical reflection, the project empowers young people to actively engage in the evolving peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Specialised attention and resources will be directed toward youth residing in border regions, whose lives and futures are most directly impacted by ongoing geopolitical developments.
Strategic Collaboration and Implementation
To deliver this program, the Foundation is teaming up with its long-standing local partner, the Yerevan-based Caucasus Institute. Together, the organisations will establish dedicated platforms for regional communication, mutual understanding, and collaborative development. Through these combined efforts, the project ensures that the younger generation can contribute meaningfully to critical conversations regarding the future of their region.
