On 11 July 2024, the first workshop was organised by the Civil Council on Defense and Security (CCDS) in partnership with the Max Planck Foundation in Tbilisi, Georgia in the framework of the project ‘Empowering Voices for Inclusive Peace and Security‘. The workshop focused on deepening the understanding of the concept of Feminist Foreign Policy (FFP) among Georgian facilitators through discussions and interactive sessions.
The workshop constituted the first output of the project and the topics covered included conceptual and practical aspects of FFP, gender and diplomacy, conflict transformation and a Georgian case analysis through the lens of FFP. The event also featured interactive sessions designed to facilitate a comprehensive understanding of the subjects, concluding with a wrap-up session to consolidate the learnings.
This collaborative effort with CCDS marks a significant step forward in understanding and promoting Feminist Foreign Policy in Georgia’s national context, enhancing the capabilities of our facilitators and exploring the applicability of best practices in Georgia. The project ‘Empowering Voices for Inclusive Peace and Security’ is implemented as part of the programme ‘Expanding Cooperation with Civil Society in Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia’, which is generously funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
