Volume 28 of the Max Planck Yearbook of United Nations Law (UNYB) is set to be published in print early next year. This edition will feature a special thematic forum titled ‘Challenges and Opportunities for the Law of the Sea at a Time of Crisis’, which will include articles and special contributions that critically engage with contemporary challenges in relation to the law of the sea and international law.
Some of the articles featured in Volume 28 of the UNYB are now available online as advance publications ahead of the full volume, and can be accessed here, via subscription. These address topics such as climate change and state responsibility, the legal framework governing protest at sea, and maritime delimitation in light of rising sea levels. Additionally, the advanced publications include open-access contributions on regime interaction in the ITLOS advisory opinion on climate change, and the relationship between the BBNJ Agreement and Regional Fisheries Management Organizations. The abstracts of all the advance articles are freely accessible on the Brill website.
Further information regarding the full publication of all the content from Volume 28 will follow in the months ahead. In case you would like to write a contribution for consideration of publication in the Yearbook, please refer to our submission guidelines, found here.
