Meetings with stakeholders to discuss technical assistance under Foundation’s project.
The Foundation held preliminary discussions with, inter alia, the Parliament of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Judges’ Institute, and the National Commission on Women, as well as various other agencies, fourth branch institutions, civil society organisations and international partners.
Following the Foundation’s guiding principles of political neutrality and local ownership, the meetings provided a forum to discuss knowledge-sharing and capacity-development initiatives under the project and to gather insights and feedback from stakeholders on the interventions proposed in order to tailor technical assistance to institutional priorities.
These meetings laid important groundwork for future technical legal cooperation and planning of next steps on project implementation and were conducted under the project ‘Supporting Institution-Building to Stabilise Democracy and Strengthen the Rule of Law in Sri Lanka’ funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
