Consultations take place with stakeholders involved with the constitutional reform process to inform about comparative research study
The Max Planck Foundation aims to support the Constitutional Assembly’s current efforts to identify the most appropriate constitutional system to implement and enforce the new Sri Lankan Constitution. For the past fortnight, consultations have taken place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with various interested stakeholders, including Government officials, civil society and religious actors, who have a vested interest in the ongoing constitutional reform process.
In this regard, the Max Planck Foundation is developing a comparative study on different constitutional adjudicatory models to support Parliamentarians to find the most suitable constitutional design for Sri Lanka.
Following these consultations, the comparative constitutional research will be published and presented later this year. Finally it will conclude with workshops on the different models to achieve the stated aim of this project.
