The National Dialogue Forum in Pakistan and the Foundation enter into Cooperation Agreement

Memorandum of Understanding signed

On 6 April 2020, the National Dialogue Forum and the Max Planck Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding laying the groundwork for their cooperation in Pakistan. The two organisations have complementary profiles with expertise in policy and law, respectively, and adopting a research-based and inclusive approach to their work.

As a local partner, the National Dialogue Forum will work alongside the Foundation to support the work of the Parliament and promote good governance throughout the country, through their cooperation. This will include capacity building activities, the promotion of political dialogue, as well as institutional support to lawmakers and legislative drafters from the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies of Pakistan.

The Foundation has implemented numerous projects in Pakistan over the past decade and this agreement supports the Foundation’s ongoing project, “Strengthening Legislative Drafting in Pakistan” generously funded by the Chubb Rule of Law Fund, as well as future projects and areas of collaboration.
