The Foundation’s Scientific & Development Policy Advisory Committee convenes in Heidelberg

On 31 May and 01 June, the fourth meeting of the Max Planck Foundation’s Scientific & Development Policy Advisory Committee took place.

The Advisory Committee consists of six internationally renowned members and regularly evaluates the Foundation’s work from a scientific and developmental angle, advises the Foundation’s Managing Directors on the Foundation’s overall strategic development as well as project development in line with the Foundation’s principles and provides assistance in establishing and maintaining networks in the regions of the world where the Foundation is implementing projects.

During the two-days meeting, the Foundation’s Managing Directors informed the Committee members about the Foundation’s work from a holistic perspective, the Foundation’s Heads of Projects reported on current projects and overall project development and the Foundation’s Research Fellows presented on select project activities. Additionally, staff members used the meeting to exchange ideas and experiences with the members of the Committee.

Following the meeting, the Foundation is looking forward to receiving the Advisory Committee’s findings of the meeting, its advice on measures necessary to ensure constant improvement of the implementation of donor-funded projects as well as its recommendations for the enhancement of the Foundation’s work, all contributing to the realisation of the Foundation’s objectives.

The next meeting of the Scientific & Development Policy Advisory Committee is scheduled to take place in 2025.
